2024 Competitive Grant Guidelines

Non-profit organizations and government/city/school organizations in and around Lyon County, Iowa, are eligible to apply for a 2024 Competitive Grant beginning on August 1, 2024.

Our Grant Management System will be used for filling out an application, submitting the application and providing proof of expenditures for your project.

The maximum amount that will be granted in 2024 will be determined later in 2024. In 2023, that amount was $350,000.

2024 Competitive Grant Important Dates:

First day to access the application via our Grant Management System:  8/1/2024

Application deadline:                                                                                      9/20/2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Applicants notified if their application is approved or not:                         Between 10/21 and 10/28/2024

Award Ceremony for approved projects:                                                      11/7/2024

Earliest project start date:                                                                              10/28/2024

Latest project end date:                                                                                  10/4/2025

Last date to submit grant reimbursement form:                                          10/4/2025

Applications must be submitted via our Grant Management System by end of day on September 20, 2024.

Only one application will be accepted from an organization.

For those with an approved grant, in order to receive the grant, you must have at least one person representing your organization at the award ceremony on November 7, 2024. Appetizers will be served at 6:00 p.m. with the award ceremony starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort event center near Larchwood, IA.

Grant recipients must return all copies of invoices, receipts, checks, etc., and complete and return the payout submission form, via our Grant Management System, no later than October 4, 2025.

2023 Fall Competitive Grant

For those who received a grant, the deadline to complete your project and return the payout submission form is 10/7/2024.
